SIMTRACK is a South Australian company, located in the town of Mt. Barker, approximately 30 minutes drive from the city of Adelaide. It was formed in the mid nineteen nineties, and is family owned and managed business.
SIMTRACK first offered its equipment to the racing industry in the year 2000, although product research and development began many years earlier. Both starting stall and running rail designs are the creation of Tony Sims, who has been manufacturing such horse racing products for more than 45 years.
He began with his father (Lindsay Sims AM.) in a small business in 1958, and went on to export their Starting Stall and Running Rail designs to 62 countries world wide, under the well known company name 'STERILINE'.
In 1996 Tony Sims began development of new designs from the ground up, utilising the latest technologies, most modern materials, and his extensive knowledge of both Running Rails and Starting Stalls. Mr Sims decided the only way to address all of the shortfalls associated with the Railing and Starting Stalls in existence, was to begin without any prior model, and engineer the products to work simply but with superior effectiveness. After years of CAD design, and resulting research and development, the revolutionary products were launched under the new trading company SIMTRACK.
The Rails and Gates have set the standard for decades to come, and are like nothing else available in the world. The Running Rail is extremely quick to erect, in both permanent and movable forms, and has out sold all others in Australia since its release, totalling a staggering 450,000 meters to date! (link this to the auto update ability so I am able to keep this figure current) The Starting Stalls have also sold extremely well both here and overseas. With less overhead structure, stainless steel gates and platforms, and a whisper quiet hydraulic or optional mechanical operating system, the product is like nothing else seen in the horse racing industry before. It is without question the most significant advance in Stall technology for over 30 years!
